A Tale with Precision

Precision Tests of the electroweak sector of the Standard Model of particle physics played a major role in its development and to establish the model as the correct theory.

More recently the emphasis has shifted to precision parameter estimation and the search for small experimental deviations from theory predictions. I will review the basic cornerstones and highlights of the precision endeavor and address future directions to further improve the precision at both high and lower energy experiments, allowing to explore very high energy scales by indirect means.
