Der preisgekrönte senegalesische Menschenrechtler, Geschichtenerzähler, Schriftsteller und Lehrer Pape Samba Sow „Zoumba“ präsentiert sein Bühnenstück Les silences du miroir, ein poetisches spectacle zur Suche nach Heldinnen und Helden. Die Erzählung ist im Rahmen seines Fellowships als „Artist in Residence“ beim Sonderforschungsbereich 948 „Helden – Heroisierungen – Heroismen“ entstanden, in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Afrikazentrum ACT der Universität Freiburg.
Les silences du miroir ist ein poetisches spectacle; eine Erzählung mit Musik und Tanz, eine Auseinandersetzung mit Religion, Erinnerungskultur und kolonialem Erbe, ein Mythos zur Suche nach Heldinnen und Helden: 
Ein Fluch bringt plötzlich Unglück über das imaginäre Königreich Ndar-an-Fluss-und-Meer, das von der Göttin des Wassers beschützt wird. Von Aberglauben beflügelt wird das Orakel, der Spiegel der Zeit, befragt. Welche Helden werden dieses unschuldige Volk am Ende befreien? Der Historiker oder der Künstler, der Politiker oder der Krieger, der Mann oder die Frau, der Gläubige oder der Atheist, der Analphabet oder der Gebildete?
 
 
 
The award-winning Senegalese human rights activist, storyteller, writer, and teacher Pape Samba Sow "Zoumba" presents his stage play Les silences du miroir, a poetic spectacle on the search for heroines and heroes. This tale was created within the course of his Fellowship as artist in residence at the collaborative research centre SFB 948 "Heroes – Heroizations – Heroisms" in cooperation with the Africa Centre ACT of the University of Freiburg.
Les silences du miroir is a poetic spectacle, a tale with music and dance, an examination of religion, memory culture and colonial heritage, a myth about the search for heroines and heroes: 
A curse suddenly brings misfortune to the imaginary kingdom of Ndar-on-River-and-Sea, protected by the goddess of water. Driven by superstition, the kingdom’s inhabitants consult their oracle, the mirror of time. Which hero will liberate this innocent people in the end? The historian or the artist, the politician or the warrior, the man or the woman, the believer or the atheist, the illiterate or the educated?
 
 
 
Pape Samba Sow « Zoumba », défenseur des droits de l’homme, conteur, écrivain et enseignant sénégalais primé présente sa pièce de théâtre Les Silences du miroir, un spectacle poétique à la recherche d’héroïnes et de héros. Ce récit a été créé dans le cadre de son fellowship en tant qu’artiste en résidence auprès du centre de recherches interdisciplinaires SFB 948 « Héros – Héroïsations – Héroïsmes » et en collaboration avec le centre africain ACT de l’Université de Fribourg.
Les silences du miroir est un spectacle poétique : un récit avec musique et danse, une réflexion sur la religion, la culture de la mémoire et l'héritage colonial, un mythe à la recherche d'héroïnes et de héros : 
Une malédiction apporte soudain le malheur au royaume imaginaire de Ndar-sur-Fleuve-et-Mer, protégé par la déesse de l'eau. Guidé par la superstition, l’oracle, le miroir du temps, est consulté. Quel héros finira par libérer ce peuple innocent ? L’historien ou l’artiste, le politicien ou le guerrier, l'homme ou la femme, le croyant ou l’athée, l'analphabète ou le lettré ?
